However, as you suggest, if someone is not in the SMC loop. they may have a harder time of it because the adoption world is enormous and navigating it successfully is much easier with the help of those SMCs who have been through it.Single Mothers by Choice (SMC)https://www.blogger.com/profile/10524160238658120095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8434051313035946945.post-1253935997417565982010-07-31T23:54:58.127-04:002010-07-31T23:54:58.127-04:00I hope that readers don't glean from this piec...I hope that readers don't glean from this piece that adoption by single women isn't possible - it absolutely is doable! There are many SMCs adopting domestically and internationally. It's unfortunate that when singles call certain agencies they are so negative on adoption. If this is the response you get, keep looking. Better yet, join SMC and get onto the SMC-Adopt chat group where you'll find plenty of us who can share what we know.

I had the opposite experience. I spent thousands on trying to conceive (unsuccessfully) and found myself 2.5 year later moving to adoption. I did talk to some agencies that were negative, but the one I'm with now is very confident and enthusiastic about singles adopting.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
